DESCRIPTION:Make history while preserving history on the most unique race course around – through nature trails and the Historic Village\, all kicked off by firing a 100-pound anvil high into the air! Whether you’re running or power-walking\, this chip-timed race will be one to remember. Post-race activities include museum admission for the day\, photo ops\, refreshments\, and awards! Plus your entrance fee goes to support the museum and its mission. Reservations available; walk-ins accepted. \nThe Course\nSpeed along our nature trails to beat your best time. Challenge co-workers and family members to join you in some fitness for a good cause. Power walk with your friends while taking in senic views of our Historic Village. GCV&M’s exclusive on-site course combines groomed trails through our winding woods with gravel byways amid our historic buildings\, creating a route that is as safe and pastoral as it is challenging. \nYour entry fee includes:\nEvent souvenir\nFREE all-day access tot he 19th-Century Historic Village\, John L Wehle Gallery and Nature Center\nChip-timed race results\nPhoto opportunities with staff in historic costume\nPost-race refreshments\nDonation to genesee Country Village & Museum to help preserve local history \nNEW Kids Fun Run – stay tuned for details! \nAfter the Finish Line\nRefuel with complimentary port-race refreshments as you await our awards ceremony. We will present prizes for “Fastest Youth” (under 12)\, “Fastest Female” and “Fastest Male.” Prizes include gift certificates to the Flint Hill Store and items handcrafted in the historic village. Then\, spend the rest of your day experiencing life in our historic\, 19th-Century village. \nReminders\nRunners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome!\nCheck-in begins at 8:00am. Start time is 9:00am sharp!\nCourse closes at 10:30am. Any participants still on the course at this time will be escorted back to the check-in tent.\nThe course is unpaved and uneven.
