DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Abilities Movement’s Second Annual BE YOU Run\, Walk and Wheel Charity Race! This race is for individuals of all fitness levels and abilities to join together for a 5K race/1.25 mile walk that truly represents connection\, community\, fitness\, and fun! \nHelp us support our community! In 2022\, support efforts helped Abilities Movement provide programs and opportunities for over 100 community members and their families. Abilities Movement helps facilitate fitness and sports opportunities for individuals with varying needs and health diagnoses\, including Autism\, Cerebral Palsy\, Spina Bifida\, Down Syndrome\, Muscular Dystrophy\, Epilepsy\, Visual Impairments\, Traumatic Brain Injury\, Mental Health Challenges\, Developmental Disabilities\, Surgery/Injury Recovery\, and Genetic Disorders. Abilities Movement is one of few providers who offer personalized fitness for people with severe medical needs. \nAbilities Movement provides comprehensive\, adapted opportunities through our programs and classes including: Personalized Fitness\, TeleFtiness\, Mighty Dunks Adapted Basketball\, Rochester Speed Demons Power Wheelchair Soccer\, Group Biking\, Kayaking\, Hiking\, Snow Sports\, and Adapted Run Club. Abilities Movement activities foster physical health benefits (cardiovascular\, endurance\, muscle/joint strength\, flexibility and balance) and socio-emotional health benefits (self-confidence\, cooperation\, community engagement\, connection with nature). These activities increase independence and quality of life for program participants who have various disabilities. \nJoin Abilities Movement and the entire greater Rochester area community as we join together for the BE YOU Charity Race\, bringing our entire community together to run\, walk\, and wheel together! \nWhen: Saturday June 10\, 2023 \nTime: 9:00am Start \nWhere: Riverbend Shelter at Genesee Valley Park. DESCRIPTION:The 8th Annual Laurel House 5K is back in full force! \nWhen:  Saturday\, June 10\, 2022 \nCan’t be there on June 10th?  Take advantage of our virtual option.  Send us your time and a photo and we will include you in our race results \nTime:    9:00 am start \nWhere:  Registration is in Central Park.  The race begins on Main Street near the Post Office and ends on East Avenue near Alex Eligh Community Center \nWhy:      All proceeds will benefit Laurel House Comfort Care Home\, 224 Fair Street\, Newark NY \nCost:     $30 until June 7\, 2022 \n$35 day of race \nIncludes:  Registration fee includes: Race shirt (shirt and size are guaranteed through May 170.  Race bag with snacks\, coupons and surprises. \nRace Awards – Awards for top three male/female finishers in the following categories:  12 & under\, 13-19\, 20-29\,30-39\,40-49\,50-59\,60-69\,70+ \nPost Race Awards and Door Prizes:  Stay after for post-race awards and door prizes!  Must be present to win! \nRace Packet Picket Pick-up:  Packets can be picked up on June 9th\, from 6pm-8pm at Alex Eligh Community Center.  Day of race packet pick-up begins at 7:30 am on June 10 \n  \nThank you for your support of Laurel House!
