SUMMARY:Hopson 5k - Give Cancer The Bird
DESCRIPTION:Run\, Walk or Soar with us for the 3rd annual Hopson 5K- Give Cancer the Bird. Located in the Hamlet of Honeoye\, you will experience beautiful fall foliage throughout the entire course without the dangers of vehicle traffic. You may have to dodge a few rabbits or squirrels or yield to a fairy or two in Hopson’s Forest! The majority of the course is a combination of wide grassy trails through WoodsEdge Retreat and the established trails through Sandy Bottom Park. If we’re lucky\, our pair of resident Bald Eagles will guide the way. This years beneficiary will be Embrace Your Sisters. EYS provides emergency financial support for people with breast cancer in our local area. To learn more about their efforts\, please visit them at https://www.embraceyoursisters.org Event timed by RobinHood Racing. \nPost race event at Birdhouse Brewery located across the street from the start /finish line. Post race event to include live music\, a complementary pint of Birdhouse beer and a good time with friends and family. Our friends from Dainty Donuts will be back this year! Stay tuned\, we may add more rain-deer games to the post race event as we get closer. \nAWARDS\nAwards will be presented to the 1st place overall female & male finishers\, 1st place overall masters male & female and “middle of the flock” \nEvery finisher will receive a really cool\, stainless steel\, locally produced\, “functional” finisher medal. \nRegister by September 27th to guarantee t-shirt. After September 27th\, a limited surplus may be available. \nFor safety reasons strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course. \nWe are also offering a virtual registration option for those of you who physically won’t be able to join us on race day. For the virtual option\, you choose when and where to run or walk your 5K. We will mail you your t-shirt.

SUMMARY:Pete Glavin XC Series - Race 3 - 6K
DESCRIPTION:Come run the best Cross Country races in Upstate NY for Open and Master’s runners. Individual and Club members compete for individual age group prizes and team awards. Members of Upstate NY Clubs compete for Series points\, awards\, and bragging rights. Championship Day is Sunday\, November 12th\, and the Niagara LDR series race is November 5th. \nThese races are for the most experienced runners as well as beginners to the sport of Cross Country running. It’s fun for all and anyone may participate. The PGXC series is now in its 33rd year with five races hosted by local clubs in locations throughout the Western NY. \nPGXC Series Awards: Overall winners M/W – $100 Wegman’s gift card\,    Age Group winners in10 year increments – $50 Wegman’s gift card\,   Top 10 in every age group – Wagner Vineyards Riesling\,   Top 3 teams in each age group will receive awards \nRace 4 USTAF Niagara Awards: Niagara XC Championships  (Nov 6th)  $1000 purse: $250 Open Teams M/W\,  $250 Open Master’s Teams (based on age grading) \nRace 4 USTAF National Awards: Niagara XC Championships   (Nov 6th)  $400 stipend for winning Open M/W teams to attend the USATF Club Nationals December 2023 \nRegistration:  All runners are strongly encouraged to pre-register online.   USATF Membership Discounts for Series($5)
