SUMMARY:Heritage Hero Run + Stroll + Roll
DESCRIPTION:At the Heritage Hero\, we recognize the people who make us proud and help us become better citizens. Their warm spirit and positive outlook inspire everyone around them. Participate in the Heritage Hero Run + Stroll + Roll to honor a family member enlisted in the armed forces\, a survivor of a serious illness\, or perhaps for a loved one whose spirit burns brightly despite their passing. This year\, we will also be celebrating our very own direct support professional heroes who work for Heritage Christian Services. Our event lands at the kick off of Direct Support Professionals Week\, a time to honor and celebrate the incredible work DSPs do every day to keep the people we support safe\, healthy and engaged in their own lives and in their communities. \nBy supporting the Heritage Hero\, you’re supporting people as they live their best lives — ones that are full of compassion and dignity. That’s why we fundraise every year to grow the Heritage Christian Services Foundation. Your support makes a difference in the lives of children\, older adults and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities\, today and in the future. \nLearn more about Heritage Christian Services here. \nSCHEDULE FOR SEPTEMBER 9\, 2023 \nSchedule for the Day \nRegistration: 7:30 a.m. \nWarm up: 8 a.m. \n10K Race: 8:15 a.m. \n5K Race: 8:30 a.m. \nStroll & Roll: 9:45 a.m. \nLunch served from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. \nFamily fun in the grove! Face painting\, lawn games\, music and more. If you have a ticket\, head into Seabreeze Amusement Park for rides and slides to celebrate their last weekend of the summer.

SUMMARY:Crosswinds 5K
DESCRIPTION:The Crosswinds 5K is a beautiful fall race through Canandaigua\, New York and it is USATF Certified. This fun and challenging course of 20+ years is suitable for the whole family\, but also challenging for the serious runner! Enjoy the first downhill mile through the City of Canandaigua and prepare for the ascent of West Lake Road before conquering the final hill through Ferris Hills. \nBuilding off the momentum of last year\, we are pleased to have two of our race day sponsors back with us! Live music from the Rolling Heads and a delicious post-race breakfast prepared by The Love Handles Eatery. \nThis race is fun\, challenging and memorable\, but its purpose is to invest in our areas children. All of our proceeds go to The Spot\, an organization that provides FREE school supplies\, clothing\, food\, and shoes to UPK-12th grade students in need within the Canandaigua and Victor school districts! Last year\, we as a race community\, were able to donate $11\,500! With your help\, we would love to set a new record this year!

SUMMARY:Beer Mile Rochester 2023
DESCRIPTION:Are you ready? \nCome to the stadium on August 18 to compete in the official Rochester Beer Mile. \nWhat is a “Beer Mile”? \nIf you’re unfamiliar with a traditional Beer Mile\, the event has historical roots in the running community. The Beer Mile was usually only held underground but was held as a professional event for the first time in 2014\, finally legitimizing a long-standing but previously unofficial race. \nThe rules are as follows: Drink 1 beer\, run 1/4 mile. Repeat 4x. \nCompete Solo\, in a 2 person relay\, or in a 4 person relay.\nYou can choose to run both relays if you like.\nYou can also choose to run the solo and the 4×4.\nYou may NOT run the Solo and the 2×2 as there will not be enough recovery time in between. \nThere will also be a party area where individuals can relax\, drink\, and hang out even if they are not competing. \nThere will be prizes for each category: \n\nFastest men’s solo\nFastest women’s solo\nFastest 2-person relay\nFastest 4-person relay\n\nWe’ll be donating proceeds to Cystic Fibrosis research. \nWe can’t wait to see all of Rochester’s Runners come out and participate in this historic and fun event. \n***NO RUNNERS UNDER THE AGE OF 21 WILL BE PERMITTED TO COMPETE. IDs WILL BE CHECKED AT THE DOOR*** \nSchedule Of Events: \n5:30 PM: DOORS OPEN \n6:00 PM: NATIONAL ANTHEM \n6:10 PM: INDIVIDUAL BEER MILERS \n(4 HEATS\, 20 MINUTES PER HEAT\, OR WHEN EVERYONE IS FINISHED) \n7:30 PM: 2X2 RELAY BEER MILERS \n(2 HEATS\, 15 MINUTES PER HEAT\, OR WHEN EVERYONE IS FINISHED) \n8:30 PM: 4X4 RELAY BEER MILERS \n(2 HEATS\, 10 MINUTES PER HEAT\, OR WHEN EVERYONE IS FINISHED) \n9:00 PM:  AWARDS! \n**Safety is our number one concern! SUMMARY:Daniel's Race
DESCRIPTION:This 5K race is in remembrance of Daniel Myslivecek\, who lost his battle with Melanoma at the age of 16. A friend of Daniel’s organized the first 5K in 2005 to help the family with medical costs. Daniel ran in that first race and died 4 months later from his illness. The 5K has continued with the support of our community and each year the proceeds are given to a family or organization that helps children with a life-threatening illness while heightening Melanoma awareness. \nTHE RACE WILL START DESPITE WEATHER AT 9:30am \nPre-Registration Participants \nSigning up for a FREE T-shirt ends on Friday\, July 22nd. \nYou can pre-register until August 5th\, to be able to pick up your bib the day before the race. If you have signed up before 7/22 you can pick up your bib and Free Shirt. \nAll pre-registration can be picked up at Rochester Running Company located at 1387 Mount Hope Ave\, Rochester\, NY 14620. ONLY on Friday August 12th and ONLY during business hours. \nPre-registration will be open from August 5th to August 12th only for participats to be able to skip the registration line on race day and go to directly getting their bibs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nTHE RACE WILL HAPPEN DISPITE WEATHER\n\nRegistration opens race day at 8:30am\, regardless of weather the race will start at 9:30am. If registrants decide not to run their proceeds will be donated to this years race recipient. \n\n\n\n\n\nELIZABETH SISSON 2022 DANIELS RACE PARTIAL PROCEED RECIPIENT\n\n\n\n\n\nTHIS YEARS PROCEEDS\n  \nPart of the 2022 Race proceeds will be going to the Sisson Family. George and Samantha (2018 RWC Graduate) Sisson and their son Georgie and their little girl Lizzy. Lizzy was born in January and diagnosed with Pierre Robins syndrome. After some uneasy nights of Lizzy not being able to breathe laying on her back\, and feeding complications\, as she wasn’t gaining weight and would throw up\, the family sought specialists at Oishei Hospital in Buffalo. Lizzy underwent a very intense and intrusive surgery to reconstruct her lower jaw in order to help her feed and breath better. And Samantha was given special instructions and tools to be able to feed her. Even with the successful surgery at such a young age she and her family still have complications and hardships ahead. Lizzy has a lot of follow up appointments in Buffalo 75 miles away from their home\, and another surgery later to fix her cleft palate. \nPlease consider registering for the race and donating to the Sisson family! \nThere are no refunds\, all proceeds will be donated to help support a specific family in need\, the Golisano Children’s Hospital Financial Fund\, and the CCHS Daniel Myslivecek Scholarship. \nThank you for your support! \n\n\n\n\n\nELIZABETH SISSON
