SUMMARY:Race with Grace 5K AND 10K
DESCRIPTION:The Race with Grace 10K \nWhy RwG 3.0?The Race with Grace (RwG) 10K was established in 1991 as an outgrowth of the participation of several men in the Spencerport Canal Days races during the mid-1980’s.  It had a two-fold purpose\, the more important one being a community outreach.  Secondarily\, it was play on the current Pastor’s name\, George Grace\, who was a runner.\nIn our inaugural year we had 185 registrants and 171 finishers.  Our attendance peaked in 2015 when we celebrated our silver anniversary race with 1245 registrants and 1121 finishers.  Over the race’s 31-year existence\, a total of approximately 5\,000 individuals have participated.  Five men remain who have finished every single RwG and ran virtually in 2020.  They are Stan Cipira\, Bob Dyjak\, Dave O’Leary\, Ric Perry and Doug Ralph.\nThe race established itself as one of the best races in western NY.  It has consistently been named one of NY’s finest races by New England Runner magazine.  In addition\, it has been recognized as one of the cornerstone races in the Rochester Runner of the Year series.  All proceeds\, once race expenses are deducted\, go to support C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association.\nWith the current race director stepping down due to work and family obligations\, no clear choice for a successor\, the race’s future appeared to be at crossroads. Thankfully\, as the “door” on the race was quickly closing\, the Rochester Running Company and Lakeshore Community Church agreed to manage and host this year’s race. \nAbout Lakeshore Community Church:\nFounded in 1995 by Vince and Sue DiPaola\, Lakeshore Community Church exists to help people discover and develop a growing relationship with Jesus. It’s a place where you can be real\, strengthen your relationships\, and make an impact in our world. All race donations will benefit the Friends of Livonia and all canned goods collected will be donated to a local food pantry! \nThe in-person run/walk is a 3.4 mile course through the Village of Livonia\, New York\, which is located within the beautiful Finger Lakes Region. Invite your family and friends to partake in this festive and memorable Thanksgiving tradition. \nIn 2023\, we will also have a virtual 5K option. You can get the same swag and run at your own time on a course of your choosing. \nEvery participant to register before 11/1/2022 is guaranteed a cotton t-shirt. \nDon’t want a shirt? DESCRIPTION:The 14th annual East Avenue Grocery Run to benefit Rochester-area food pantries – November 4\, 2023! \nJoin us in-person or virtually for the Grocery Run 5k and 1 mile run/walk to benefit local food pantries! In-person participants can choose our fast\, flat 5k course down East Avenue and along the Riverway Trail\, or a quick 1-mile out and back on beautiful East Avenue. Hope Ave\nOR\nRace morning 7:30a – 8:45a at the School \n2023 Scare Brain Cancer Away Recipient:\nAbby McCarthy \nMost of us know Abby as the through-hiking and ultra running queen\, with a side hustle goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. She finds things like Vol. State 500k “fun” – AKA traversing Tennessee in  4 days\, 21 hrs and 8 minutes for a total of 313 miles. She’s also known for completing the thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail In 2008. And 10 years later tackling the thru-hike of the PCT (in 2018). \nOn the 15th of October 2022\, Abby had a seizure while she was sleeping. She thought this was a first time occurrence…..Doctors here in Rochester\, after hearing about a string of nightmares she had been having over the summer\, determined that they were not nightmares but tiny seizures in her temporal lobe. — A resulting MRI showed two masses\, one being more concerning than the other. They told her that the mass on the left was cancerous and the cause of the seizures\, but something they could confidently cut out. \nAbby had surgery on the 29th of November and spent nearly 3 weeks in Boston recovering while going to physical therapy\, occupational therapy and speech therapy. On December 18\, 2022 she was released and planned to continue the physical therapy in Rochester. She will also be treated with chemotherapy after 6 weeks of radiation which started early in March.\nAbby has stayed positive and optimistic\, going for walks and runs between treatments. She even ran a 35 hour race during her first week of Radiation – managing 113 miles! She is determined to get the most out of everyday – even through the bad days – and roast the tumor to the ground. Abby brings joy to everything she does and everyone she spends time with. Money raised will go to Abby to help pay medical bills.

DESCRIPTION:September is National Recovery Awareness Month. \nROCovery Fitness’ 9th Annual 5K Run/Walk and X-Challenge is a celebration of fitness and recovery\, and an important fundraiser for this life saving organization—and again this year\, it is both in-person and virtual so you can run and enter your results from anywhere in the world all month long! Run\, walk\, or just join our virtual community for the fun updates\, posts and pictures! \nIn just over 8 years\, ROCovery Fitness has engaged more than 7\,500 individuals in recovery from alcohol and substance use disorder. We provide a safe place for recovery of both mind and body\, helping people rebuild their lives and rediscover their inner strength and confidence through adventure\, fun\, and sober social connection. \nThe ROCovery Fitness 5K celebrates the hope we find in recovery\, and remembers loved ones who have been lost to the disease of addiction. Whether you are running for yourself\, for someone you love\, or for someone you’ve lost\, we hope you will run (or walk!) for ROCovery Fitness! \nIf you are a person in recovery who is in need of financial assistance to sign up for the 5k please email us at mail@rocoveryfitness.org and we will discreetly scholarship you for your entry fee. \nAll runners and walkers will receive a swag bag with a custom bib and race t-shirt! \nSign up by 6/30/23 for the early bird registration price!  All memorial signs must be ordered by 8/31/23.  Kids 10 and under are just $10 registration fee. DESCRIPTION:New for 2023: SECOND Tuesday this season!  \nDescription: Join us on the SECOND Tuesday of every month for a 5K race along the river.  The course will remain the same throughout the summer so you’ll get the chance to compare your progress throughout the year. **Keep in mind the River Path is a PUBLIC path\, so there will be other runners\, walkers and bikers on the path\, please be aware of your surroundings\, headphones are discouraged** \nPeople of all speeds and abilities are welcome and encouraged. Sign up for 1 race or the entire series of 6 races! \nWHAT YOU GET: Officially timed race\, live results\, series leaderboard\, a chance for prizes for each race. Each month you run you are entered into the series race page to see how your time stacks up throughout the entire series. \nThose who registered for the series prior to May 9th (Race 2) get a FREE 16oz Can Cooler (Limited to first 100)  \nYou must complete 4/6 races to be eligible to win overall series awards!  (Age Group and Series)  Each race will have a small give-away (expect a nutrition item or small running related knick-knack) \nVibe: Low frills\, everyone encouraging each other to do their best.  Fast times\, slow times… lets make some memories. \nRegistration: Opens February 15th \nPacket Pickup for ALL RACES\nMonday Prior to Race Day: 11-7 at Rochester Running Company\nTuesday DAY OF RACE: 11- 4 at Rochester Running Company (hard cut off at 4PM) and 5:30 – 6:15 PM at the course \nWhen: April 11\, May 9\, June 13\, July 11\, August 8\, September 12 \nRace starts at 6:15pm SHARP at the River Path \nRace Map: Same for 2022 – Same Start Finish this year\nSTART/FINISH: Behind Corn Hill Landing Plaza (270 Exchange Blvd) \nCost: $25.00\n(Kids/Young adults under 18 years of age are $11.00) \nBundle Option: Sign up for all series races for $100. Run our Trails will be the the LAST Tuesday of every month (April – September) We will be reserving the Hopkins Point Lodge in Mendon Ponds Park for restroom access. The plan is to run the various trails around Mendon Ponds Park\, each month will be a different trail with a slightly different distance as well.
