DESCRIPTION:Run\, Walk or Soar with us for the 4th annual Hopson 5K- Give Cancer the Bird. Located in the Hamlet of Honeoye\, you will experience beautiful fall foliage throughout the entire course without the dangers of vehicle traffic. You may have to dodge a few rabbits or squirrels or yield to a fairy or two in Hopson’s Forest! The majority of the course is a combination of wide grassy trails through WoodsEdge Retreat and the established trails through Sandy Bottom Park. If we’re lucky\, our pair of resident Bald Eagles will guide the way. This years beneficiary will be C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association. C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association exists to provide emotional\, educational\, social\, and financial assistance to Rochester-area families whose children have cancer or a blood disorder. To learn more about their efforts\, please visit them at https://www.curekidscancer.com. Event is timed by Robinhood Racing \nPost race event at Birdhouse Brewery located across the street from the start /finish line. Post race event to include live music\, a complementary pint of Birdhouse beer and a good time with friends and family. Our friends from Dainty Donuts will be back again this year! Stay tuned\, we may add more rain-deer games to the post race event as we get closer. \nAWARDS\nAwards will be presented to the 1st place overall female & male finishers\, 1st place overall masters male & female and “middle of the flock” \nEvery finisher will receive a really cool\, custom designed\, locally produced finisher medal. \nRegister by September 25th to guarantee t-shirt. If you know of a family with a child battling a life altering illness or disability please reach out to info@danielsrace.com to let us know! \nThere are no registration refunds\, all proceeds will be donated to help support a specific family in need\, the Golisano Children’s Hospital Financial Fund\, and the CCHS Daniel Myslivecek Scholarship. \nThank you for your support! \nDescription\nThis 5K race is in remembrance of Daniel Myslivecek\, who lost his battle with Melanoma at the age of 16. A friend of Daniel’s organized the first 5K in 2005 to help the family with medical costs. Daniel ran in that first race and died 4 months later from his illness. The 5K has continued with the support of our community and each year the proceeds are given to a family or organization that helps children with a life-threatening illness while heightening Melanoma awareness. \nDESPITE WEATHER REGISTRATION OPENS AT 8:00am AND RACE STARTS AT 9:00am \nRegister \n \nPre-Registration Participants\nPre-registrations for a FREE T-shirt end after the first 100 participants or on July 15th. \nIf you register before August 16th you can pick up your bib AND Free Shirt the day before the race on the 16th. Any registrations on or after Augugst 16th will be able picked up at the pre-registation table on race day. \nPre-registration packets can be picked up at Rochester Running Company located at 1387 Mount Hope Ave\, Rochester\, NY 14620. DESCRIPTION:Jolly Roger 5K\nRun with us in person for awards\, or virtually to support the choir.\nWhen: Saturday\, August 10th \nTime: 8:30am Start Time \nWhere: Starting at Palmyra Macedon High School bus loop (Parking available in the main parking lot at the High School) then continuing right out of the bus loop with a quick left onto Foster street.  At the four way stop runners will make a right onto Stafford Rd.  They will continue on Stafford Rd until they they reach Temple Rd.  Runners will turn left onto Temple Rd and follow that to the turn around.  This course has been mapped out this year to reflect the correct distance. \nWhy: The Jolly Roger  5K is one of the key fundraisers for the Palmyra-Macedon Select Choir.  Proceeds support the domestic and international travel of the ensemble.
