DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first Painted Pinky 5k\, a run/walk to support the prevention and education of the opioid crisis in our community. The race will be held in conjunction with the Green Front car show. Join us at 8:30am for a 5k run/walk through Canandaigua’s historic streets\, followed by the car show beginning at 11am. \n“The Painted Pinky 5k” is named in honor of a beloved member of the community who was known for her colorful nails\, with exception of the pinky finger that was frequently painted black. Sadly she lost her battle with addiction and passed away\, and her friends and family have been painting their pinky nails black in her memory. DESCRIPTION:The Penfield Education Foundation is excited to be hosting the second annual PEF 5K. This race/walk will start and end at the Penfield High School track on Sunday\, October 14\, 2018. This community 5K race/walk is intended to provide a morning of healthy exercise while supporting the Penfield Education Foundation (PEF). Children’s races will follow the running of the 5K. \nThe Penfield Education Foundation was established in 2016 by a group of community\, faculty and parent leaders who believe that education is at the heart of our Penfield community. PEF is a private\, non-profit\, 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization. The goal of PEF is to raise funds to provide grants for school programs that are not supported through the District’s own budget and to support the awarding of scholarships to further the education of Penfield Central School District students. The PEF 5K is the main fundraiser to raise money to support PEF’s grant and scholarship programs. DESCRIPTION:This is the 5th year of the St. Peter’s Running with the Angels race(s). In early 2017\, we lost the race founder\, Wendell Hercules\, a staple member of the church\, the community\, and the Rochester running scene in recent years. In his honor\, the race was renamed with his namesake. \nThe 10k route is very diverse and challenging – 1 mile cross-country\, 3 miles on the Lehigh Valley Trail\, and the rest on local roads. SUMMARY:The Tenth Annual Scare Brain Cancer Away 5K Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:This is a fast flat course through the village of East Rochester being very well marked with 2 water stops. The race is a part of the “Rochester Runner of the Year Series” and receives outstanding support from residents that cheer participants to the finish line. \nThis will be the tenth year for this annual event in which funds raised from this go directly to an individual or individuals suffering from this terrible disease. This year funds will go to the “Patient Needs Fund” at the Wilmot Cancer Institute. Assistance can be provided to patients in the form of gift cards for gas\, groceries and general merchandise from stores such as Wegmans and Target. Participating can help to set a PR or the opportunity to run or walk for a great cause. Come dressed in a costume for an opportunity to win a gift certificate to a local restaurant. And\, as always\, there is plenty of food and the opportunity to take home some great goodies from the bake sale that is put on annual by the family of Steve Ross\, the original recipient of funds from this event. \nYou must be registered by September 30th to guarantee a T-shirt. \nResults\n\nOverall Results\nAge Group Results\nAward Winners

At 10:30 there will be a 1.5 mile stroll through Genesee Valley Park that begins at 10:30a.m. The Stroll begins in the parking lot near the Roundhouse pavilion. \nThere is a $30.00 minimum required to participate in the 5K or the stroll. the day of the event the registration for the 5K is $40.00 You may also get sponsors. We accept cash\, Checks (payable to Golisano Children’s Hospital) or online.
