SUMMARY:Race with Grace 5K AND 10K
DESCRIPTION:The Race with Grace 10K \nWhy RwG 3.0?The Race with Grace (RwG) 10K was established in 1991 as an outgrowth of the participation of several men in the Spencerport Canal Days races during the mid-1980’s.  It had a two-fold purpose\, the more important one being a community outreach.  Secondarily\, it was play on the current Pastor’s name\, George Grace\, who was a runner.\nIn our inaugural year we had 185 registrants and 171 finishers.  Our attendance peaked in 2015 when we celebrated our silver anniversary race with 1245 registrants and 1121 finishers.  Over the race’s 31-year existence\, a total of approximately 5\,000 individuals have participated.  Five men remain who have finished every single RwG and ran virtually in 2020.  They are Stan Cipira\, Bob Dyjak\, Dave O’Leary\, Ric Perry and Doug Ralph.\nThe race established itself as one of the best races in western NY.  It has consistently been named one of NY’s finest races by New England Runner magazine.  In addition\, it has been recognized as one of the cornerstone races in the Rochester Runner of the Year series.  All proceeds\, once race expenses are deducted\, go to support C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association.\nWith the current race director stepping down due to work and family obligations\, no clear choice for a successor\, the race’s future appeared to be at crossroads. Thankfully\, as the “door” on the race was quickly closing\, the Rochester Running Company and Lakeshore Community Church agreed to manage and host this year’s race. \nAbout Lakeshore Community Church:\nFounded in 1995 by Vince and Sue DiPaola\, Lakeshore Community Church exists to help people discover and develop a growing relationship with Jesus. It’s a place where you can be real\, strengthen your relationships\, and make an impact in our world. When you’re ready\, check out Lakeshore for yourself; Sundays at 9 and 11am\, in person and online at live.lakeshorechurch.org. \nQuick Race info:\nThe entry fee includes a long-sleeved tech shirt. (The 1/4 Zip up can be upgraded at check out instead of the L/S T-Shirt\, you will ONLY get the Zip Up if you upgrade) Sizes are guaranteed if you register prior to November 1\, 2023. There will be plenty of food and refreshments\, complete computerized race results available online\, and race photos. Awards will be given to top male and female finishers in the Open\, Masters (40+)\, Veterans (50+)\, and Seniors (60+) categories\, as well as the 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place finisher in each age group\n \nRACE DAY\nNEW FOR 2023 – 5K OPTION \nDate: Thursday\, November 23rd\nTime: 8:30 am EST\nLocation: Lakeshore Community Church  3651 LATTA RD. ROCHESTER NY 14612\nNO EARLY START OPTION – All Runners will start at the same time for both races.  \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION\nGiven that the majority of the new course is actually run on the same roads as the original course\, and it’s the third route in the event’s history\, it will be affectionately known as RwG 3.0. Now with its 3rd course however its core values\, fundraising\, and overall community involvement is just the same. We welcome you all back with a new course map\, new host location as we look to continue this Thanksgiving day Tradition for many more years to come. \n \nENTRY FEE\n$35 Entry Fee Now till Nov 15 (Week before race)\n$40 Entry Fee November 16 – November 22\n$45 Entry Fee November 23 – Race Day\n**800 Runners cap** Don’t wait to sign up!!\n**5K is $5.00 Cheaper at all price increases** \nSWAG\nLong Sleeve Tech Shirts – Guarantee size if you sign up by November 1st\nOptional 1/4 Zip Up Add on $20.00. ** You will ONLY get the Zip up if you upgrade** \nPREREGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP\nAvailable at Rochester Running Company 1387 Mt Hope Ave\, Rochester NY 14620\nTuesday 11/21 at Rochester Running Company 12p – 6p\nWednesday 11/22 at Rochester Running Company\, 12p – 6p\nRace Day 11/23 at Lakeshore Community Church\, 7:30a – 8:15a \nAMENITIES\nTiming provided by Robinhood Racing\nDigital display clock finish\nPost-race awards ceremony\nWater stations at halfway mark\nPlenty of food and refreshments\nSplits at 5k\nInstant results published online – Make sure you check to “receive notifications at sign up”\n5-year\, 10-year\, 15-year 20-year\, 25-year\, and 30-year participation patches \nAWARDS – 10K \n$300 (cash) & $100 RRC gift certificates for M/F (under 40) Open.\n$150 (cash) for M/F Course Record\n$150 (cash) for M/F (40+) Masters\n$75 (cash) for M/F (50+) Veterans\n$50 (cash) for M/F (60+) Seniors\nAwards for M/F Winners of Age Groups (age groups:1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place finisher will receive awards)\n**5K Awards: Top 1 M/F overall and in Age Groups** \nAge Groups Breakdown\nMale/Female: 0-9\, 10-14\, 15-19\, 20-24\, 25-29\, 30-34\, 35-39\, 40-44\, 45-49\, 50-54\, 55-59\, 60-64\, 65-69\, 70-74\, 75-79 and 80 & over. \nRace Records: (Old course) \nMelissa White ✦ 34:45 (2005)\nKatie Lembo * 34:10 (2022) (New Course)\nMark Andrews ✦ 30:05 (2003)
