DESCRIPTION:New for 2023: SECOND Tuesday this season!  \nDescription: Join us on the SECOND Tuesday of every month for a 5K race along the river.  The course will remain the same throughout the summer so you’ll get the chance to compare your progress throughout the year. **Keep in mind the River Path is a PUBLIC path\, so there will be other runners\, walkers and bikers on the path\, please be aware of your surroundings\, headphones are discouraged** \nPeople of all speeds and abilities are welcome and encouraged. Sign up for 1 race or the entire series of 6 races! \nWHAT YOU GET: Officially timed race\, live results\, series leaderboard\, a chance for prizes for each race. Each month you run you are entered into the series race page to see how your time stacks up throughout the entire series. \nThose who registered for the series prior to May 9th (Race 2) get a FREE 16oz Can Cooler (Limited to first 100)  \nYou must complete 4/6 races to be eligible to win overall series awards!  (Age Group and Series)  Each race will have a small give-away (expect a nutrition item or small running related knick-knack) \nVibe: Low frills\, everyone encouraging each other to do their best.  Fast times\, slow times… lets make some memories. \nRegistration: Opens February 15th \nPacket Pickup for ALL RACES\nMonday Prior to Race Day: 11-7 at Rochester Running Company\nTuesday DAY OF RACE: 11- 4 at Rochester Running Company (hard cut off at 4PM) and 5:30 – 6:15 PM at the course \nWhen: April 11\, May 9\, June 13\, July 11\, August 8\, September 12 \nRace starts at 6:15pm SHARP at the River Path \nRace Map: Same for 2022 – Same Start Finish this year\nSTART/FINISH: Behind Corn Hill Landing Plaza (270 Exchange Blvd) \nCost: $25.00\n(Kids/Young adults under 18 years of age are $11.00) \nBundle Option: Sign up for all series races for $100. The plan is to run the various trails around Mendon Ponds Park\, each month will be a different trail with a slightly different distance as well.

SUMMARY:2023 IEXC Race Series
DESCRIPTION:2023 Innovative Edge Cross Country Series and Kid’s Fun Runs\nThursdays in August (3th\, 10th\, 17th\, 24th)\n\nSchedule\n5:00PM – 6:00PM: Same day registration and bib pickup \n6:00PM: Kid’s Fun Runs \n\n50 meter “final stretch” run for younger kids\n1/4 mile loop around the field\n1/2 mile loop around the field\n\nAll participants will receive a ribbon and popsicle at the finish. The races will not be timed. Parents are welcome to run with their children. All spectators are strongly encouraged to cheer the kids on. \n6:30PM: 5k Cross Country Race \nThe 5k will be a cross country style race around Cobb’s Hill Park. Most of the race will be on grass and trails with some short stretches on pavement (see the course map for more detail). The course will be marked with brightly colored flags and there will be several marshals on course to help runners. \nPricing\nAll races are free to members of the Genesee Valley Harriers club. You will have an opportunity to join as part of registration if you are not currently a member. \nAll kid’s runs are free and do not require pre-registration. These races are only open for same day registration. \nNew in 2023!! The 5k is free to all runners under 18. \n$35.00 for all four 5k races (discount applied at check-out) \n$10.00 for any single 5k race

SUMMARY:Daniel's Race
DESCRIPTION:This 5K race is in remembrance of Daniel Myslivecek\, who lost his battle with Melanoma at the age of 16. A friend of Daniel’s organized the first 5K in 2005 to help the family with medical costs. Daniel ran in that first race and died 4 months later from his illness. The 5K has continued with the support of our community and each year the proceeds are given to a family or organization that helps children with a life-threatening illness while heightening Melanoma awareness. \nTHE RACE WILL START DESPITE WEATHER AT 9:30am \nPre-Registration Participants \nSigning up for a FREE T-shirt ends on Friday\, July 22nd. \nYou can pre-register until August 5th\, to be able to pick up your bib the day before the race. If you have signed up before 7/22 you can pick up your bib and Free Shirt. \nAll pre-registration can be picked up at Rochester Running Company located at 1387 Mount Hope Ave\, Rochester\, NY 14620. ONLY on Friday August 12th and ONLY during business hours. \nPre-registration will be open from August 5th to August 12th only for participats to be able to skip the registration line on race day and go to directly getting their bibs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nTHE RACE WILL HAPPEN DISPITE WEATHER\n\nRegistration opens race day at 8:30am\, regardless of weather the race will start at 9:30am. If registrants decide not to run their proceeds will be donated to this years race recipient. \n\n\n\n\n\nELIZABETH SISSON 2022 DANIELS RACE PARTIAL PROCEED RECIPIENT\n\n\n\n\n\nTHIS YEARS PROCEEDS\n  \nPart of the 2022 Race proceeds will be going to the Sisson Family. George and Samantha (2018 RWC Graduate) Sisson and their son Georgie and their little girl Lizzy. Lizzy was born in January and diagnosed with Pierre Robins syndrome. After some uneasy nights of Lizzy not being able to breathe laying on her back\, and feeding complications\, as she wasn’t gaining weight and would throw up\, the family sought specialists at Oishei Hospital in Buffalo. Lizzy underwent a very intense and intrusive surgery to reconstruct her lower jaw in order to help her feed and breath better. And Samantha was given special instructions and tools to be able to feed her. Even with the successful surgery at such a young age she and her family still have complications and hardships ahead. Lizzy has a lot of follow up appointments in Buffalo 75 miles away from their home\, and another surgery later to fix her cleft palate. \nPlease consider registering for the race and donating to the Sisson family! \nThere are no refunds\, all proceeds will be donated to help support a specific family in need\, the Golisano Children’s Hospital Financial Fund\, and the CCHS Daniel Myslivecek Scholarship. \nThank you for your support! \n\n\n\n\n\nELIZABETH SISSON
