What:  Walk or run a 5k in Canandaigua, NY

Why:  Proceeds will go to the Community Support Center and the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition. More details on these community programs below!

When:  Sunday November, 13, 2022

Time:  9:00 am start

Where:  North Shore of Canandaigua Lake:  The race will travel along the north shore of Canandaigua Lake, into Lagoon Park for a few loops, and back.  See below for the map. The start line is right near Scoops Ice Cream (10 Lakeshore Drive).

Cost:  Free for kids 0-4 (no t-shirt for this age group), $15 for kids 5-12; $35 for everyone 13+

T-shirt deadline:  everyone ages 5+ who registers before October 16 will get the race shirt!

Packet pick up:  Pre-pick up on Wednesday November 9 4:00-6:00 pm and Thursday November 10 4:00-6:00 pm at the Partnership for Ontario County, 5297 Parkside Dr. Suite 307 Canandaigua, NY 14424.  Race day pick up on Sunday November 13 7:30-8:30 am.  Shirt included in packet only if ordered by October 16.

About the Community Support Center:

  • Provides free, recreational opportunities through creative programming that foster community (Create + Connect, Letters & Lattes, Journey Through Life Grief Group, Pop-up and Seasonal Events)
  • Provides free, confidential & short-term counseling to children, teens and adults using the Solution Focused Brief Therapy Model, 6-10 sessions. Counseling offered at Geneva and Canandaigua and soon-to-be Naples
  • Connects people in the community with other local resources should they request it

About the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition:

  • Promotes secure storage and disposal of medication to keep communities and the environment safe
  • Participates in Red Ribbon Week with schools and community- it’s the largest and longest running prevention program in the country
  • Created a website for youth with resources and information on several health topics: EmpowerOC.org
