Our 5K is in remembrance of Daniel Myslivecek, who lost his battle with Melanoma at the age of 16. A friend of Daniel’s organized the first 5K in 2005 to help the family with medical costs. Daniel ran in that first race and died 4 months later from his illness. The 5K has continued with the support of our community and each year the proceeds are given to a family or organization that helps children with a life-threatening illness while heightening Melanoma awareness. Our organization has partnered with the Golisano Children’s Hospital in the hopes of raising $25,000 in a three year period. This is our third year of that commitment to reach that goal.

Race details

The race is held at Churchville-Chili School District behind the Middle School. You will want to use the Fairbanks Road entrance to the district, not the Senior High School. Once you are in, just follow that road straight between Fairbanks Road Elementary School and the Middle School and you will go back near the track. Registration takes place in the Middle School cafeteria. You will see plenty of volunteers and signs to help get you to the correct spot!

Course details

The race begins on the road outside of the Middle School cafeteria. You will then leave the district and make a left on Fairbanks Road. When Fairbanks Road ends, you will make a left on Westside Drive and run until the race turn-around. This will you lead you back where you came from and bring you to the track, which is behind Fairbanks Road Elementary School. After making a lap around the track you will hit the finish line!
